Photoshoot with my sister

Just yesterday my sister, Vanessa, and I went for a photo shoot. She is such a great photographer and has an awesome camera. One would believe she was a professional.

Now for the photos of Vanessa. She also has many nicknames such as Nessie, Vanes, Ness...

Yes, isn't she beautiful?

My apologies for not posting this weekend. I went to camp at the Elks Youth Lodge. I might have been canoeing, tie-dyeing, and rock climbing. Oh and did I mention falling from forty feet in the air? I will have pictures soon.

Danielle won the photo challenge! Please email me HERE to ask what $5 gift card you want.

Book Review of: Journey to Nowhere - Mary Jane Auch

Journey to Nowhere

After the War of 1812, Remembrance "Mem" Nye and her family relocate from Connecticut to the unsettled area of western New York. Mem believes it is a complete journey to nowhere in the great wilderness with just endless forest. Along this adventure, Mem's family encounters the perils of wild animals, raging storms, and cruel strangers. (written by me)

I was not totally enthralled with this story like I was with Princess Academy or the Land of Elyon series (which I will post book reviews on), but I did enjoy Auch's book. She portrays an eleven year old girl in the spring of 1815, on the prairie with her family of four.
I have never read (in all my reading years) a history fiction before now. I did, however, appreciate Auch's work and research she put into this book. I doubt anyone under the age of nine would like Journey to Nowhere

There was brief violence in Journey to Nowhere such as drinking, smoking, and knives. There were no bad words, if I remember correctly.

With that I give this book 4 stars

This is my first book review and I assure you, they will get better!

Raindrops and such

No, I don't like rain - unless it stops long enough for me to go take some pictures!

And no, I don't normally take selfies. Just saying.

Oh, and the photo contest is ending on the 18th. Click HERE to go to the contest page. Enjoy!

As near as my heart

As near as my heart

by yours truly

I close my eyes only to realize
No matter how much time we spend apart
You're always as near as my heart.

I plug my ears to reality knocking at my door,
Telling me to say goodbye to the person I adore.

With a sigh I say goodbye
And with tears filling my eyes I cry.

I wrote this for no one in particular, but maybe you can relate. : )

I took photos of my parents' wedding rings with the Bible. I never thought to post them, but the poem matched.

Entering Samantha's Photo Challenge!

Hewow. Can you say that in your head? Hewow. Well, I thought it sounded funny. Am I weird to you yet? Yep, I am definitely weird. :p

I'm entering Samantha's photo challenge to take a photo of your hobby. Mine is reading so I took photos of books. What's your hobby?
           Here are some photos:
(I took many photos so I'll tell you which one is my entry)

Yes, this is the photo for Samantha's challenge. ^^^

Now here is a poem I wrote.

Books, books, books galore,
all I want is more, more, more!

There are stories on a page,
every chapter I have to gauge.

I've always got my face in a book,
sitting in my favorite nook.

There is always more to read,
every second I have to heed.

Okay, so I'm not very good at formatting poems, but rhyming comes naturally to me. I wrote that in one minute. But yes, I don't want to bore you so... moving along.

(please visit these three blogs: herehere, and here)

I had the privilege to use my older sister's Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSI camera. It's super fancy with too many buttons. Very confusing.

From your very confused and bewildered sister in Christ,
