As near as my heart

As near as my heart

by yours truly

I close my eyes only to realize
No matter how much time we spend apart
You're always as near as my heart.

I plug my ears to reality knocking at my door,
Telling me to say goodbye to the person I adore.

With a sigh I say goodbye
And with tears filling my eyes I cry.

I wrote this for no one in particular, but maybe you can relate. : )

I took photos of my parents' wedding rings with the Bible. I never thought to post them, but the poem matched.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think of such things.
